The mission of the Venice Symphony Youth Orchestra is to provide students an opportunity for high-quality instruction in an ensemble setting while enriching the communities of Venice and the neighboring areas. The program consists of two performing ensembles with rehearsals taking place at Building 42, behind the Venice Performing Arts Center on the VHS campus. |
Symphonic Winds – Welcoming students in 8th – 12th grade, with more than three years of experience and the maturity to participate in a large ensemble. A full orchestra experience with opportunities in Woodwind and Brass. Students must demonstrate solid technique and are developing on their instrument. Rehearsals are held Wednesdays from 4:30 to 6:00 pm. Parents can register their students here. |
Concert Strings – Welcoming students in 3rd through 8th grades, with two to three year of experience playing, developing positions, and interested in performing in an ensemble. This string-only ensemble provides students the opportunity to grow as musicians and to experience performing before an audience. Rehearsals are held Wednesdays from 4:45 to 6:15 pm. Director: Nicole Rawley. Parents can register their students here. Symphonic Strings – Suited for students in a band program grades 8-12. Instruments Welcome: Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass. This year’s rehearsals will start on Wednesdays from 4:30-6:00pm. Parents can register their students here. |
Tuition includes instruction, application and fees. Need-based scholarships are available.
